Jan Saudek Bio
Jan Saudek is nowadays the most renowned Czech photographer in the world. He has had over 400 one- man shows held at. His photographs are included in the most important world collections: The Art Institute of Chicago / Boston Museum of Fine Arts/ Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris / International Museum of Photography at George Eastman House, Rochester / The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York / Moravská galerie, Brno / Musée d ́Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris / John Paul Getty, Los Angeles / Museum Ludwig, Köln / National Gallery of Australia, Canberra.

从1963年的首次个展,他的作品就从没停止过被争议、审查、没收,甚至指控,直到今天仍然如此。他用蔑视挑战公约、禁忌和虚伪;他突破了自己的感知局限,用作品证明他的人类家庭成员是由相同材料组成的;证明对于大多数人来说他们是一伙奇怪的空想家、怪人、悲剧英雄、生活的演员,一伙寻找着走出生活迷宫道路的人。他的照片也许是一个凡人绝望的尝试,在一声呐喊中囊括了全世界的生活经验:所有的喜悦、自我否定、渴望;所有的爱与绝望,折磨,极端刺激的瞬间,以及无尽的不确定性和希望;所有的罪恶和凌驾于这一切之上的对美的赞美和迷恋。他试图把这些迷惑从现实中剥离来出,并记录在一小片感光胶片上。
他是一个彻底的女性崇拜者。“裸体是世上最自然的东西,它使女人成为女人,使男人成为男人,无论今天还是一百年前。我脱掉女人的衣服,由此她才能变得永恒”他这样表达自己。他深深地迷恋生命周期的往复:生育与死亡,成长与衰老。他区别了男人和女人的世界。他认为女人非常伟大,他把她们描绘得纯洁、刺激、母性、公正、神秘、骄傲。
1977年起,他开始手工着色他的照片,它们是现实向浪漫主义迈进的一个重要阶段。他试图打破照片的时间和地点属性,防止它们被确定年代,倾向于赋予其更加宏观更加普遍的时间和空间意义,赋予照片怀旧的非现实感。同时提出了一个关于人类存在的本质和意义的问题。
不过,他的作品也应放在整个欧洲解放运动、挑战知性主义、呼唤感官主义的语境下来理解。真正的艺术只能从人类精神的最深处、从生活经验当中汲取。索德克必须通过地狱、炼狱和天堂,才能将其毕生之经历、所思所想转化成影像信息传递给我们,并且分享给任何意欲倾听的人们。
